COASTLANDS NETBALL KAPITI CENTRE AWARDS 2022
Margaret Rice Cup (Team or Individual who displayed Sportsmanship during the season)
Winners - Our Lady of Kapiti School Shamrocks (A team of young players who always showed respect for their opposition, played with true spirit throughout the season even when games were tough and scores against them were large, smiles, handshakes were always given out).
Kapiti Netball Cafe Cup - Junior Coach of the Year
Winner/s - Danielle Saint and Charli Pollard-Simmiss (Danielle and Charli took on a Kapiti College Junior Netball Team this year and have received very high praise from their team manager for their consistent efforts and attention to the needs of their players. All along while playing for their own teams.
Business House Cup - Outstanding achievement for Team or Individual
Winner/s - Kahu Huff and CNK U16 Representative Team (Both recipients exceled this season. Kahu being selected for the NZ U20 Men's Netball Team and the U16 Rep Team recording their best result at the U16 North Island Championships with promotion to the A Grade for 2023.
Senior Volunteer's Trophy
Winner - Alicia Rayner (Alicia's commitment to netball in 2022 was outstanding. Alicia is a current player/member of Business House Netball Club where she was the Manager for the BH1 team, she also co-coaches Kapiti College Senior B together with Assistant Coach to the U16 Rep team. Alicia was an integral part of the Kapiti College trials. Alicia has also started her NNZ Community Coach Pathway to upskill her coaching toolkit.
Junior Volunteer Trophy
Winner - Emily Dewdney (Emily has had a fantastic season with huge progression in her umpire journey. After starting with the Junior Umpire Group last year and gaining her Elementary Badge, Emily has continued to work hard this season and achieved her NNZ Umpire Pathways Centre Award in early June this year. Emily also attended Marjorie Jenden Rep Tournament and travelled away with the U16 Rep Team to the U16 Championships in New Plymouth.
Hakkens Family Cup - Outstanding Coaching for an Individual
Winner - Kat Kerr (Kat has had an amazing season in 2022. Firstly being on the Kapiti College selection panels for their Junior Trials. Coaching the KC Year 9A team to a plate final that went into extra time twice. Kat also coaches Business House 2 which she has done for several years. Kat was also appointed as Head Coach for the CNK U16 Rep Team where she applied all her knowledge, experience, dedication and commitment to the team with fantastic results. Kat continues to upskill at every opportunity and has taken on an amazing journey with her coaching.
